Asphaltation of cent percent villages till March 2023- Minister Shri Patel

Bhopal, June 27, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Shri Kamleshwar Patel said that by March 2023, cent percent villages of the state will be connected to asphalted roadway. He said that the work of connecting all 3174 villages to the asphalted roads has begun.
Minister Shri Patel said that there are total one lakh 27 thousand 869 km roadways in the state. Out of this, maximum 61 percent that is 77,269 km roads have been constructed under Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana. He said that the state government will connect all the villages, majra-tolas to asphalted roads by 2023 where minimum 50 families reside.
Shri Patel said that phasewise efforts are being made by the Madhya Pradesh Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Abhikaran to fulfil targets. He told that the target is to connect villages with a population of 500 of the general category and villages with a population of 250 of Scheduled Tribe category to asphalted roads by March 2020. The target is to connect 350 villages with general category population till December 2020, 500 of general category and 622 villages with 250 Scheduled Tribe category population under Mukhya Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana till December 2020 and the remaining 1870 villages will be connected to asphalted roads by March 2023.
