Extension of ATM facility is necessary in haat-bazaars of tribal areas

Bhopal, July 6, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Additional Chief Secretary Finance Shri Anurag Jain has said that there is a need to expand ATM facility in the haat-bazaars markets in the tribal areas of the state. Banks should also ensure that no fee is to be charged for opening a bank account. Shri Jain was addressing a meeting of the State Level Bankers Committee. Discussion was held on the extension of banking facilities in Panchayats, ensuring availability of loan facility for dairy, poultry farming, fisheries and other areas along with agriculture during the meeting.
Additional Chief Secretary Forest Shri K.K Singh, Additional Chief Secretary Animal Husbandry Shri Manoj Shrivastava, Additional Chief Secretary Panchayat and Rural Development Smt. Gauri Singh besides officers of banks and various departments were present in the meeting.
During the review of the employment oriented and welfare schemes, instructions were given to ensure that the beneficiaries do not face any problem due to lack of mutual coordination and procedures in banks. Instructions were also given to settle the applications received under the schemes within the time limit. Discussion was also held on the cooperation of banks in ensuring availability of credit facilities to the self help groups, financial literacy besides implementation of National Bamboo Mission schemes.
