E-office system in Water Resources Department in Madhya Pradesh

Documents reduced to 50 percent
Bhopal, July 26, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The administrative system between the Departmental Head and the office of the Engineer-In- Chief of the Water Resources Department has been linked to e-office. With the implementation of this system, the management of folders is being carried out faster through e-office. With the use of Information Technology Services, the need of maintaining paper documents in various offices of the Department has reduced to just 50 percent.
Departmental activities on Gender issues
Madhya Pradesh is the first state in the country where women’s participation in irrigation management has been ensured through an Act. Wives of land holders in Water Consumer areas who are not land holders, have also been recognized as land holders. Women have been empowered by granting voting rights in the election of farmers’ organization and the right to contest elections.
Provision has been made for one out of six sub-committees to be set up for operating Krishak Sangathan, to be constituted in the form of a “Mahilaon ki Bhagidari up-samiti”, in which all six members will be women. The head of the up-samiti will also be a woman member.
