Rs 838 crore approved for urban drinking water and sewerage management: Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh

Bhopal, July 31, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh has said that clean drinking water and sewerage management have been given prominence in urban infrastructure. He said that for this, a provision of Rs. 838 crore 19 lakhs has been made in the departmental budget.
Minister Shri Singh said that assistance is being taken from world-class funding institutions along with financial resources of the central and state governments for arrangement of the desired amount needed for the construction of urban infrastructure. Loan/Grant contracts have been made of about Rs 1080 crore with the World Bank, Rs 5400 crores with ADB and Rs. 525 crore with K.F.W.
The Urban Development and Housing Minister told that works related to drinking water of Rs 2682 crore in 66 cities and Rs 925 crore related to sewerage in 19 cities of the state is in progress. Sewerage work of Rs 707 crore in 16 urban bodies on the banks of Narmada river are also in progress.
