Smart class to be started in Eklavya residential schools

Bhopal, August 22, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Approval has been given to start smart classes in 33 Eklavya residential schools being run for tribal students in the state. The Tribal Welfare Department has approved ICT centres for each Eklavya school at a cost of Rs 22 lakh.
Computer labs and smart classes well-equipped with web cameras, projectors, sound-proof black boards etc. are being developed in Eklavya residential schools. The introduction of smart classes will benefit 9 thousand 500 students across the state. These schools are being equipped with modern educational facilities and internet connectivity. Rs 7 crore 26 lakh has been approved for this project.
Post-metric scholarship will be provided online
The Tribal-Welfare Department has provided online facility for post-metric facility under which the entire system of approval and distribution of scholarships will be transparent. The work will be paperless and self-verification process will be implemented. So far post-metric scholarships worth around Rs 21 crore has been distributed to 27 thousand tribal students through online system.
