Hold consumer service camps at each Power Distribution Centre

Energy Minister Shri Singh gives directives to Managing Directors
Bhopal, August 25, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): The Minister for Energy Shri Priyavarat Singh has directed Managing Directors of all the three power distribution companies to hold at least 3 consumer service camps at each power distribution centre from September 15 to October 15. Check some electricity bills as a sample in the camp. Resolve complaints of excess and incorrect bills soon. Ensure redressal of complaints received regarding quality, maintenance and disruption of power in the camp. Executive Engineers of the companies should also be present at the camp. The Energy Minister said that a report of action undertaken during the camps must be sent by 21 October. He said that the officers of the power distribution companies should be present in the ‘Aapki Sarkaar- Aapke Dwaar’ programme and solve the problems of the people related to the department.
Company’s main goal is satisfaction of power consumers
Minister for Energy Shri Singh asserted that the power distribution companies are basically a service provider. The main goal of the companies is satisfaction of power consumers. He said that uninterrupted power supply should be ensured to consumers. Tripping problem should be redressed, he added.
Shri Singh said that a special campaign will also have to be conducted for the recovery of electricity bills. He said that before recovery, it is necessary to ensure correct electricity bill and satisfactory power supply. He further mentioned that apart from making the bill based on correct meter reading, it is also necessary that electricity bills should reach the consumers on time.
