Universities in MP must prepare monthly and annual target based road map

Bhopal, September 16, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): The Governor Shri Lalji Patel told the Vice Chancellors of the Universities that there is a need for preparations for the new education policy from now itself. Prepare an annual and monthly target based roadmap for long term objectives. Shri Tandon was addressing the concluding session of NAAC grading workshop at Raj Bhavan last Sunday evening . The Chairman of NAAC Prof. B.S. Chouhan was also present on the occasion.
Shri Lalji Tandon further said that the Vice Chancellors are the architects of the new education system. He said that duties should be discharged with authority. Set an example of research and employment oriented education. The educational quality, attendance of students, library and laboratory arrangements should be improved. Focus on the availability of basic facilities. Make university activities digital and online. This will make the system transparent and increase the responsibility towards the work. Shri Tandon said he himself would visit universities and review the arrangements.

The Governor said that the practical experience of the knowledge that the universities are imparting, should also be given to the students during the study period. He said that earlier there were different ideologies and theories of education. Today, nationalism and realism are the basis of education. The new education policy is an effort to change the system of education. The universities should create an ideal arrangement on their own. For their cooperation, projects of the UGC, RUSA and the World Bank are available.

The Governor Shri Tandon said that in the first phase, universities should focus on the main points. Make yourself self-sufficient. Conserve water and get the water harvesting done to conserve rain water. Shri Tandon said that the state and the country today face a big challenge to double the farmers’ income. To meet this challenge, universities have to project zero budget farming by implementing it in villages. Motivate the villagers towards zero budget farming through students, he added.

Shri Lalji Tandon said that a decision has been taken to fill up the vacancies after considering the problems faced by the universities. He mentioned that the selection process will be transparent and merit-based. Shri Tandon said that a representative of NAAC must be included in the selection committee.
