CM plants very-rare plant species Shalya Karni of Mahabharat era
Ministers also plant 30 endangered and rare species of plants in Aditi van
Bhopal, September 27, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath today planted a very rare surgical plant species at the Mantralaya premises. The Chief Minister was accompanied by Cabinet members also who planted 30 out of 32 species of endangered and rare species in the Aditi Van created in the Mantralaya under the Hara Bhopal-Sheetal Bhopal campaign. The Chief Minister also visited the exhibition organized on the occasion.
Shri Nath said that it is necessary to save the forests to prevent increasing pollution and to keep the traditional medical system alive. He said that we should build a safe and beautiful state for our future generations.
The plant sown by the Chief Minister is a very rare surgical plant of endangered species of Mahabharat era. This plant was used then in healing wounds of those injured in war and other accidents. This species is on the verge of total extinction today.
There are 6 endangered plant species including Dahiman, Shalya Karni, Menda, Sonpaatha, Garuda tree and Beeja in Aditi Van. On this occasion plants of threatened and sensitive species planted here are Kumbhi, Kenkad, Padar, Kullu, Rohina, Sheesham, Dhava, Salai, Bhilma, Gadha Palash, Dhankat, Kuchla, Anjan, Mokha, Tinsa, Kharhar, Bhedar, Achar, Kusum, Bhudkut, Haldu, Khatamba and Bud.
Vidhan Sabha Deputy Speaker Sushri Hina Kanvre, Culture Minister Dr. Vijaylaxhmi Sadho, Public Works Minister Shri Sajjan Singh Verma, Water Resources Minister Shri Hukum Singh Karada, General Administration Minister Dr. Govind Singh, Bhopal Gas Tragedy Relief and Rehabilitation Minister Shri Arif Aqueel, Animal Husbandry Minister Shri Lakhan Singh Yadav, Public Health and Family Welfare Minister Shri Tulsiram Silavat, Revenue Minister Shri Govind Singh Rajput, Women and Child Development Minister Smt. Imarti Devi, Tribal Affairs Minister Shri Omkar Singh Markam, School Education Minister Dr. Prabhuram Choudhury, Forest Minister Shri Umang Singhar, Law and Legislative Affairs Minister Shri P.C. Sharma, Food-Civil Supplies and Consumer Protection Minister Shri Pradyumna Singh Tomar and Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Minister Shri Sachin Subhash Yadav also planted saplings.
