The place where PM Modi’s brother Prahlad Modi’s daughter Damayanti Ben had an incident of snatching the purse, is home to Delhi’s Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal just a few steps from there. Police did not give its identity as ‘niece of PM Modi’
The victim, who was caught snatching a purse in Delhi in the presence of her husband, told the police her name is Damayanti Modi, but did not reveal that she is the daughter of PM Modi’s brother Prahlad Modi. Even while registering the case, PM kept his relation with Modi hidden. At the same time, after the case was registered, the complete information came out through the media. DCP North Monica Bhardwaj told the media that the police have registered a case and started investigation and the accused will be arrested soon.
According to victim Damayanti Ben, the purse contained around Rs 56,000 and two mobile phones and other important documents. According to the victim, she returned to Delhi from Amritsar (Punjab) on Saturday morning. During his stay in Delhi, a room was booked at the Gujarati Samaj Bhavan located in the Civil Lines area. In the morning as she arrived in front of Gujarati Samaj Bhavan through an auto rickshaw from Old Delhi railway station, 2 scooters aboard scooter ran away snatching her purse.
