Bhopal, April 13, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan): Governor Mrs. Anandiben Patel today lauded the researches and investigations being undertaken in the field of Animal Husbandry by the Nanaji Deshmukh Veterinary Science University in Jabalpur. Mrs. Patel after visiting the exhibition on Animal Husbandry at the University premises said that the researches and applications of the University will definitely be beneficial for the herdsmen (pashupalak) and they will be able to use it to double their income. Mrs. Patel inspected each stall put up in the exhibition organized by the University. She apprised herself in detail about the researches and applications being undertaken by the University for treatment of cattle. She was also shown advanced breed of cattle, goats and hens. The Governor distributed fish seeds to fish farmers prepared by the Matsya Chikitsa Vigyan Prabhag of the Veterinary Science University. Governor and Madhya Pradesh Red Cross Committee Chairperson Mrs. Anandiben Patel issued instruction to start an orphanage in the old age home run by Red Cross. Mrs. Patel was reviewing the activities of the District Red Cross Committee in Jabalpur. She also gave instructions to make arrangements for testing blood of the girls in the hostel and nutritious food to those girls who are found to be undernourished and anaemic. It was told at the meeting that free electric cart is being run for disabled and senior citizens by the District Red Cross Committee to help them reach railway platform no. 1. Information was also given on the shop run by Red Cross to make medicines at lower prices available to the patients from the leprosy home, district disabled rehabilitation centre and primary treatment training programme run by Red Cross Committee. Collector and Chairperson of District Red Cross Committee Mrs. Chhavi Bharadwaj, Vice-Chairperson, representative Dr. Sunil Mishra, Secretary Dr. Ajit Dubey and Mr. Hemrak Agrawal were present during the review.
