Minister of state Mr. Jalam Singh Patel at inter-state meeting
Bhopal, April 29, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan): Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Cottage and Rural Industries, Ayush Mr. Jalam Singh Patel has urged the Centre to include the products manufactured in Chanderi and Maheshwar in state in the export unit. Representing the state at the inter-state meeting organized by the Textile Ministry in New Delhi, Mr. Patel presented a detailed report on the handloom and handicrafts industry in state. State Minister Mr. Patel said that the Development of Exportable Products and Marketing (DEPM) scheme should be re-started. Through this scheme sample manufacturing, designer fees, technical upgradation, market study and participation in international fairs will be made possible.Mr. Patel proposed to give pension to weavers and handicrafts especially national and state awardees above 60. He urged for fee concession for the youths of these families on admission in IIHT and to open IIHT Institutes in Chanderi or Maheshwar. Mr. Patel said that these sections should be given the facility of health card so that they can be treated free of charge.
