Society must unite to stop crime against women: Lok Sabha Speaker

Community, which insults girls, cannot progress: CM Mr. Chouhan

Bhopal, April 25, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan):  Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Sumitra Mahajan expressed deep concern towards crime against women. She said that people will stop trusting humanity, if such kinds of crimes would not be controlled strictly. She mentioned that beside strict provision of punishment, all the religions and communities must unite and make concrete efforts in this direction. The Lok Sabha Speaker was addressing the Kirar Dhakad Yuvak-Yuvti Parichay Sammelan here today. Mrs. Mahajan further stated that it is necessary for man and woman to become equally strong for the upliftment of the society. Social evils can only be eradicated by the society. The Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan said that society, which insults girls cannot make progress. Abuse against girls will not be tolerated at any level. Expressing gratitude the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to pass the ordinance for death penalty against the heinous crime, he said that effective improvement will come in the condition certainly. Mr. Chouhan mentioned that his mission of life is woman empowerment. Efforts have been made in the state in order to prove girls as blessings for the society. He further said that the society must make efforts with its full potential to generate awareness to eradicate social evils from the society. It has to work with commitment and devotion to eradicate dowry system, for de-addiction and environment conservation, he added.

National President of Akhil Bhartiya Kirar Kshatriya Mahasabha, Mrs. Sadhna Singh while welcoming the guests said that unity can make the society strong. Praising the programme, she urged youth to take resolve not to take dowry and adopt the tradition of mass marriages to save time and money. Informing about the activties of the Mahasabha, she said that meritorious students will be honoured. One month fee towards civil services coaching for aspirants will be borne by the Mahasabha. She further informed that marriages of 11 couples will be solemnised by the Mahasabha in the mass marriage function. Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs. Mahajan was welcomed by the Kirar Community by presenting shawl, shreephal and memento.

A book ‘Hamara Samaj’ written by Mrs. Sadhna Singh besides Parichay Smarika edited by Mr. Pradeep Chouhan and monthly ‘Kirar Darpan’ were released on the occasion.  Kanya Poojan was performed in the begining. Ms. Suhasini Joshi presented Madhya Pradesh Gaan. Martyrs were honoured posthumously. Former National Presidents of the Mahasabha were felicitated and meritorious students besides other talented persons were honoured. The programme was conducted by the President Bhopal Municipal Corporation Mr. Surjeet Singh Chouhan.
