Media advocacy workshop on world press day in Burhanpur

Minister Mrs. Chitnis delivers statement on “Mahila ki Mahima aur Media”

Journalists of Delhi, Bhopal, Indore, Khandwa and Burhanpur attend workshop

Bhopal, May 4, 2018 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  A one-day workshop had been organized in Burhanpur on the role of media on sensitive issues related to women besides boys and girls and precautions to be taken while reporting such issues. The workshop was held on May 3 on the occasion of World Press Day. Informing about this, the Minister for Women and Child Development Mrs. Archana Chitnis said that four sessions will be held in the workshop, in which deliberations on role of media in building healthy-safe society for women and children and media, correlation and understanding between public representatives and administration will take place. A special session on knowledge about laws related to women and children will also be conducted. This workshop is being organized with cooperation of Woman and Child Development Department and Public Relations Department. Senior Video Journalist Mr. Vinod Kashyap, Mr. Rahul Noronha of India Today, Senior Journalist of Indore Mr. Prakash Hindustani, Senior Journalist of Bhopal Mr. Somdutt Shastri, Mr. Ajay Bokil of Subah Savere, Senior Journalist of Deshbandhu Bhopal Ms. Rubi Sarkar, Editor of Samagam Patrika Mr. Manoj Kumar and Journalists from Khandwa and Burhanpur will come face to face with each other.  Member of Parliament Mr. Nandkumar Singh Chouhan and public representatives of Burhanpur will also participate in the workshop. It may be mentioned that a decision to observe the World Press Freedom Day was taken by the UNESCO and United Nations in the year 1991 with an objective to enlighten about the importance of Press Freedom.
