Other states should follow MP in implementation of RERA Act: Union Minister Mr. Puri

RERA central advisory council’s meeting held in New Delhi

 Bhopal, May 16, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan):  Union Minister for Housing and Urban Affairs Mr. Hardeep Singh Puri praised Madhya Pradesh for effective implementation of RERA Act. He mentioned that the other states of the country should follow the working system of Madhya Pradesh. Mr. Puri said this during the first meeting held at New Delhi of the Central Advisory Council, formed by the Union Government for implementation of RERA Act. Chairmen of 5 states and Secretaries of Housing and Urban Affairs, Revenue, Legal Affairs, Consumer Protection, Company Affairs participated specially in the meeting. Union Minister Mr. Puri has said that the Government of India has implemented the RERA Act with the basic concept to protect the interest of real estate consumers and to create a clean and healthy atmosphere for real estate business. He stated that a single window system should be developed to ensure completion of real estate projects within the time limit. Mr. Puri also appreciated efforts made by Madhya Pradesh Real Estate Regulatory Authority.

Chairman of Madhya Pradesh RERA Mr. Antony De Sa suggested some amendments to make the Act effective for ground implementation. By acknowledging the amendments, the council has given directives to form a sub-committee for its implementation. Along with this, a decision to form council at regional level, to make the RERA Act more effective was taken in the meeting. Representatives of CREDAI, the apex body of private real estate developers association, Chairmen of NAREDCO and members of organisations connected to consumer and real estate agents also took part in the meeting.
