Governor extends greetings on world environment day

Bhopal, June 8, 2018 (Ataullah Faizan):  Governor Mrs. Anandiben Patel extended greetings to the people of the state on the occasion of World Environment Day. In her message she said that there is need for maximum plantation, maintenance and conservation of saplings in view of environmental pollution and climate change. Mrs. Patel said that awareness towards environmental conservation should be generated among students. Painting, essay competitions and debates on the subject should be organized in different schools, colleges and universities. The Governor has called for active participation of the people of the state in works including creating awareness towards environment conservation among youth, tree plantation, stop use of polythene and free rivers and other water sources of pollution. Tree plantation programme held in Raj Bhavan: Raj Bhavan Secretariat officers, employees and their families planted saplings at the Raj Bhavan premises on World Environment Day. About 100 saplings were planted under the guidance of Legal Officer to the Governor Retired Justice Mr. Bharat Maheshwari. Children also took part in the tree plantation programme in a large number.
