This was said by the Minister for Public Relations, Law and Legislative Affairs, Science and Technology, Aviation, Religious Trusts and Endowment Shri P.C. Sharma at the concluding ceremony of the 64th National School Games Competition today. Only two things, winning and learning are important in sports, he added.
Lauding the dance performance presented by the girls of the Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Shri Sharma said that recital of Vande Matram helps in remembering Freedom Struggle. Several brave sons of the country have sacrificed their lives while reciting Vande Matram during the freedom struggle. He congratulated all the winners and extended good wishes in advance to the players for the 65th School Games Competition.
Madhya Pradesh bagged first position in Girls Age Group 14 and 17 years and Boys Age Group 17 years in Hupkwondo. Second position in Hupkwondo Boys Age Group 14 years secured by Madhya Pradesh, whereas first position was secured by Delhi. Under the boxing competition of Girls Age Group 19, Haryana won the first position followed by Maharashtra on second position. Under the boys category Madhya Pradesh bagged second position and Haryana first. As many as 778 players of 28 States and Union Territories took part in Boxing and Hupkwondo competition.
