Mandideep to be ideal Industrial Area: Minister Shri Verma

Bhopal : January 14, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Minister for Environment and Public Works Shri Sajjan Singh Verma said that keeping in mind the environment, Mandideep Industrial Area will be developed as ideal industrial area of the country. He urged industrialists to cooperate in this connection. He was addressing the programme of Industries Association in Mandideep today.
Shri Verma mentioned that pollution is the biggest challenge before the world today. As much as Industrialisation is needed today, similarly the environment conservation is must. He stated that promises made to the people in the manifesto are being fulfilled after the formation of the new government in the state. Proposals to install Common Effluent Treatment Plants in industrial areas should be prepared so that rivers of the state should not get polluted by the contaminated water being released from the industries. Along with the state government, industrial units should take responsibility collectively for operation of these plants. He also gave instructions to the officers of Pollution Control Board in this connection.
The Chairman of the Industries Association Shri Manoj Modi has informed that 250 industrial units out of the total 900 industrial units of 40 year old Mandideep Industrial area have obtained permission as per the rules as regard to the environment. There are 650 such industrial units of the area, which already have permission from the product list of the Union Government. Regular workshops are being organized by the association to spread awareness regarding GST, environment and safety of labourers. The programme was also addressed by Member Secretary of the Pollution Control Board Shri A. A. Mishra and officer of the Industries Department Shri J.N. Vyas. The President of Mandideep Nagar Palika Shri Badriprasad was also present in the programme.
Inspects Betwa river
The Environment Minister Shri Verma also inspected Betwa river near the Industrial area during the visit of Mandideep. He gave instructions to the officers related to measures to be taken for river conservation. Shri Verma also saw Continuous Ambient Air Quality Monitoring Display Station made in Mandideep.
