Bhopal : January 30, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath said that the government will prepare a concrete strategy soon to ensure justice to women and children, who experience sexual violence and to stringently control this heinous crime. This was informed by the Chief Minister during his meeting with a team of ‘Garima Yatra’ set out under the banner of Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan at his residence today. The team is touring across the country with an objective to spread awareness among the women and girls besides ensuring justice to victims.
The Chief Minister mentioned that incidents of atrocities against women and girls in civilized society are shameful. He said that we can redress this problem with joint participation of government and society. He lauded the initiative taken by the Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan on this issue.
Shri Kamal Nath further said that Madhya Pradesh Government is committed for safety of women and girls. The State Government is making planned efforts to ensure speedy justice to victims. He expected cooperation of the Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan team in efforts of the government.
The nationwide journey of Rashtriya Garima Abhiyan began from Mumbai on December 20, 2018. This journey will culminate in Delhi on February 22, 2019. The Garima Yatra will traverse through 200 districts of 24 states of the country and will cover a distance of 10 thousand k.m.
The Coordinator of Rashtriya Garima Yatra Shri Arif Shaikh, Shri Sadiq Aagwan, Sushri Urmila Devi, Sushri Shanti Prajapati, Sushri Durga, Sushri Rekha Chouhan, Shri Rajendra Mewada and Shri Sameer Tawer were present on the occasion.
