Ministers Shri Sharma and Shri Jaivardhan at seminar on “Urban Dialogues-Re-imagining Bhopal”

Bhopal : February 12, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Bhopal is known for its natural beauty. The plan for development of Bhopal city must focus on the enhancement of natural beauty of the city. Urban Development and Housing Minister Shri Jaivardhan Singh said this at a seminar on ‘Urban Dialogues-Reimagining Bhopal’. Addressing the seminar, Public Relations Minister Shri P.C. Sharma said that in view of the continuous development of the city, creation of a new master-plan for Bhopal will be relevant.
Shri Singh said that all the medium of transport of the city should be inter-connected. He said that along with Metro Rail, mono rail, bus transport, ropeway should also be inter-linked. Simultaneously, facilities of all types of transport should be available in the same card.
Shri Jaivardhan Singh said that the main objective of smart city is ease-of-living. He said that focus has also been laid on area-based development along with the development of the entire city in smart city. Shri Singh said that there is need to open new industries near Bhopal so that employment opportunities can be increased. He informed about Yuva Swabhiman Yojana also. Shri Singh said that ‘Sapnon ka Bhopal’ will be created under the guidance of senior citizens and with the energy of youth.
Bhopal needs new master-plan
Public Relations, Law and Legal Affairs, Endowments and Science and Technology Minister Shri P.C. Sharma said that Bhopal needs a new master-plan. He said that Bhopal city is developing fast. The government’s main goal is development. In view of the concept of Smart City and keeping in view the city’s natural beauty the new master-plan has become a necessity. Shri Sharma said that for the smart city, it is very important to make proper arrangement of employment and education of children of the displaced persons. He said that there should be discussion during the seminar on how traffic can be controlled better. Make a traffic plan so that no one faces any difficulties. With maximum flyovers here, traffic will be eased for the people of the city.

Director General All India Institute of Local Self Government Shri Rajiv Agrawal, senior journalist Shri Abhilash Khandekar, Shri Ashok Wankhede, Shri N.B. Lohni and other speakers also addressed the seminar.
