After Loan Waiver, next target of government is to ensure fair price to farmers: CM Shri Kamal Nath

Bhopal, February 26, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath laid foundation of Narmada-Kalisindh Link Lift Irrigation Project costing Rs. 3490 crore in Sonkachh of Dewas district today. He said that after the loan waiver of the farmers, the next target for the government is to ensure fair price to the farmers for their agriculture produces. The Chief Minister also dedicated the first nutritious food plant of the state in village Khatamba of Dewas. The plant having 2500 MT capacity has been established at a cost of Rs. 16 crore. This plant will facilitate take home ration supply to Dewas including 9 districts.
The Chief Minister further mentioned that the cases registered against the farmers by the former government during the farmers’ protest will be revoked. He said that the 60 days old government has shown its intentions and policy. Every promise according to the manifesto is being fulfilled. Mentioning about the Narmada-Kali Sindh Link Lift Irrigation Project, Shri Kamal Nath said that this will facilitate irrigation on one lakh hectare land of Dewas and Shajapur of Malwa district and 282 villages of Sehore district. He mentioned that 70 percent population of the state is linked to the agriculture. Increase in irrigation facility will result in increase in agriculture production. Our concern is to ensure that farmers must get fair price for their yields, produced after their hard labour and obtaining loan. Increase in purchasing power will help increase in trade and business and development of the state.
The programme was also addressed by the Minister for Public Works and Environment Shri Sajjan Singh Verma, Minister for Higher Education Shri Jeetu Patwari, Minister for Tourism Shri Surendra Singh Baghel and Minister for Panchayat and Rural Development Shri Kamleshwar Patel.
Distributes Loan Waiver Certificates
The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath also distributed loan waiver certificates to the farmers under the Jai Kisan Fasal Wrin Maafi Yojana. He presented certificates worth Rs. 1,75,335 to Balwan Singh, Rs. 1,73,440 to Ambaram, Rs. 1,60,868 to Ajab Singh, Rs. 94,681 to Mahendra Singh, Rs. 78,768 to Kripal Singh, Rs. 49,609 to Soudan Singh and Rs. 36,452 to Kamlesh. Loan worth Rs. 250 crore of the highest number of over 91 thousand farmers of Dewas district has been waived off.
