CM Shri Kamal Nath to dedicate two units of Singaji Thermal Power Project on March 3

Bhopal, March 2, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath will inaugurate two units of 660 MW capacity each based on supercritical technology of the second phase of Shree Singaji Thermal Power Project in Dogalia village of Khandwa district on March 3 in the morning. Former Union Minister Shri Arun Yadav, Energy Minister Shri Priyavrat Singh, Minister for Public Health and Family Welfare Shri Tulsiram Silavat, Minister for Farmers Welfare and Agriculture Development Shri Sachin Yadav, MP Shri Nand Kumar Singh Chauhan and MLA Shri Narayan Patel will be present.
Unit No. 3 of 660 MW capacity of the second phase of the project will start commercial production from November 2019. The Unit No. 4 of 660 MW capacity, on full capacity (full load) is operating successfully since February 26, 2019. Commercial production from this unit will start from this month.
In the first phase of the project, two units of 600 MW each costing Rs 7820 crores are successfully engaged in power production. In the second phase, the two units of 660 MW each based on supercritical technology costs Rs 7738 crores. The required entire share capital for both the phases of the project has been given by the state government. The balance has been made available in the form of loan. By January 2019, about 76 percent of the cost, i.e. Rs 5863 crores, has been spent on the second phase of the project.
After dedication, Shree Singaji Thermal Power Project will become the largest project of Madhya Pradesh Power Generating Company. Its total installed power generation capacity is 2520 MW. The total thermal power generation capacity of the company will also be 5400 MW. Agricultural consumers of the state will get the maximum benefit of the power produced from both units of this project. Demand for power in the state has been on the rise constantly in the previous years. The power generated from the project will make specific contribution to the supply.
