Gondi language to be included in primary education curriculum in Tribal districts of Madhya Pradesh

Government holiday on International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples on August 9 , CM Shri Kamal Nath takes decisions
Bhopal, March 6, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): In order to preserve and to encourage one of the ancient languages of the country, the Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath has taken a decision to include the Gondi language in the curriculum of the primary education of the tribal dominated districts of the state. He has said that fast decline in the number of Gondi speaking people is a matter of concern. Hence, it is essential to save this language from extinction.
Shri Kamal Nath stated that the International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples will be observed in the state on August 09 to redress the problems of the tribal community. Government holiday will be declared on this day. He further mentioned that the decision has been taken by the United Nations to observe International Day of the World’s Indigenous Peoples at the global level to redress the problems of indigenous people residing in various countries of the world. Accordingly this day will be dedicated to redress the problems of the tribal community.
Tendu Leaf collection rate increased from Rs. 2000 to Rs. 2500 standard bag
The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath took a decision to raise the standard bag rate fixed for tendu patta collection from Rs. 2 thousand to Rs. 2500. This decision will benefit about 35 lakh tendu patta collectors of the state. Shri Kamal Nath stated that tendu leaf collection work is conducted at large scale in the state. This work is a main mean of livelihood especially for tribal. Therefore, the state government has made increase in the standard bag collection rate of tendu leaf.
Special Recruitment drive for government services to be launched soon
The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath has announced that a special campaign for recruitment in government services will be conducted soon. During the campaign, about 60 thousand posts of various levels in various departments will be filled. He further informed that about 20 thousand backlog vacant posts of scheduled caste and tribe will be filled. The Chief Minister said that youth of the state will get a big opportunity of till date to join the government services through this special campaign.
