Job creation is State Government’s top priority: C.M. Shri Kamal Nath at CII

Bhopal, March 9, 2019 (Muslim Saleem): The Chief Minister Shri Kamal Nath has said that job creation is State Government’s top priority. He said that employment will come from investment and excellent skills are essential to grab employment opportunities. He informed that the State Government is working on well-thought out employment-oriented skill development policy while endeavouring to attract investments in emerging areas.
Shri Nath was expressing his views on the theme of ‘Localized Strategies for Sustainable Economic Growth of Madhya Pradesh’ organized by the Confederation of Indian Industries at its annual session 2018-19 here today.
The Chief Minister said that the Madhya Pradesh offers a pool of intellectual abilities and entrepreneurial talents. They need enabling environment and opportunities. He said that there are immense opportunities in Madhya Pradesh but challenges also persist. The government is planning all measures to face the challenges.
Shri Nath said that India has emerged as the biggest aspirational society of which Madhya Pradesh is a major part. He said that aspirational young generation is completely different in respect of perception and innovative thinking. He said that this group can not be ignored.
The Chief Minister said that every economic activity creates employment prospects. Therefore, strategies to promote economic activities should be devised priority. He said that small and micro economic activities may be ignored while measuring contribution to the GDP and market economy but they are equally important as they play major role in employment creation. They can not be ignored.
The Chief Minister said that the industries must keep pace with the fast changing technology for survival. Shri Nath said that the changes taking place globally are also different in nature. Giving example of farm sector, he said that the production in the agriculture was a challenge earlier but management of excess production now becomes a challenge. Renewed strategies are needed for this.
Shri Nath said that full support and cooperation would be given to the investors. In order to draw attention to employment prospects in new areas, quality of education at schools and colleges will also be taken care of students are motivated to learn new skills. He cited the example of the energy sector saying that energy storage is the new area. Countries like China are coming faster in this area. There is a need for the teaching the skills while focusing on such changes. He said that the tourism in Madhya Pradesh has been huge potential. There are endless possibilities of expansion and employment. He said that there is a need for out of thinking approach to create jobs. If training does not bring employment, the strategies must be immediately redesigned.
Shri Nath said that manufacturing sector will be given attention as this offers huge employment potential and service sector has its own limitations.
President of Western Region of CII Shri Piruz Khambatta informed that soon Bhopal will have CII’s Skill Development Centre. Other districts will also have it. Representatives of various industry groups were present on this occasion.
