472 bridges to be constructed in 5 years for smooth and convenient road traffic by PWD in MP

Bhopal, March 9, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): In order to make road traffic smooth and convenient in Madhya Pradesh, as many as 472 bridges will be constructed in the next 5 years. An approval in principle of Rs. 5540 crore has been given by the Public Works Department in this regard. The Minister for Public Works Shri Sajjan Singh Verma has informed that 400 large and medium bridges, 55 railway over bridges at the railway crossings of the entire state and 17 flyovers will be constructed. He further informed that a provision of Rs. 2 thousand crore for the large and medium bridges, Rs. 1940 crore for the flyovers and Rs. 1600 crore for 55 railway over bridges has been made in the work plan.
5 Flyovers to be built in Bhopal
As many as 5 flyovers have been proposed for Bhopal city. The first 1500 meter long fly over bridge costing Rs. 100 crore will be constructed from Jahawar Chowk to Katju Hospital via Rangmahal square and Roshanpura square upto Raj Bhavan. The second 2 thousand meter long flyover costing Rs. 160 crore will be built from Lalghati via Bairagarh upto Bhainsakhedi Jod. Similarly, the third 3 thousand meter long bridge will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 200 crore at Hamidia Road from Kali Mandir, Talaiyya to Bharat talkies, Railway Station Tiraha, Nadra Bus Stand via Bhopal Talkies upto Shahjehanabad Police Station. The fourth 2 thousand meter long flyover costing Rs. 120 crore will be built in front of Jaishree Beedkar hospital via Retghat, Curfew wali Mata Mandir upto hamidia Hospital and GPO. Likewise, the fifth 1350 meter long bridge costing Rs. 90 crore will be constructed from Roshanpura square via Banganga square, polytechnic square upto MLB college square.
6 flyovers in Indore
Total 6 flyovers have been proposed for Indore city. The first 6 lane 590 meter long bridge costing Rs. 40 crore will be built from MR-10 to Star square and in between Vijay Nagar square upto the Redison square. The second 546 meter long 6 lane flyover costing Rs. 35 crore will be constructed in between the Ring Road and Robot square upto the Khajrana square. Similarly, the third 1170 meter long 4 lane flyover will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 55 crore from Rajeev Gandhi square and between Teen Imli sqaure upto the Vijay Nagar square. The fifth 540 meter long bridge costing Rs. 25 crore will be built at A.B. Road between M.Y. Hospital and Geeta Bhavan square upto the Shivaji Vatika square. Like wise, the sixth 700 meter long flyover will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 35 crore at the old A.B. Road, Palasia square.
Two flyovers to be constructed in Gwalior
Two flyovers have been proposed for Gwalior city. The first 1050 meter long flyover has been proposed from Shinde ki Chhawni (Nadi Gate) to Ramdas Ghati. An amount of Rs. 50 crore will be spent on the construction. The second 1350 meter long flyover costing Rs. 61 crore has been proposed from Hajira Chowk (INTUC Ground) to Char Shahar ka Naka (IIITM Road). An amount of Rs. 61 crore has been proposed for this work.
R.O.B. in Jabalpur
Construction of one R.O.B. and conversion of one flyover into 4 lane has been proposed for Jabalpur. The R.O.B. will be constructed from GAD Scheme no. 41 to 31, Dhanvantri Nagar upto the Kachhpura. A sum of Rs. 90 crore will be spent on this 4 lane R.O.B. The existing 2 lane Shastri bridge at Gorakhpur Adishankar Chowk, Old Bus Stand Road will be converted into 6 lane and Rs 125 crore is proposed to be spent on it.
One flyover and R.O.B. proposed for Chhindwara
Construction of one flyover and one R.O.B. has been proposed for Chhindwara city. The flyover will be built from Seoni Road R.O.B. to ELC Chowk, Nagpur Road. This 5 thousand meter long flyover will be constructed at a cost of Rs. 650 crore. Similarly, a 800 meter long R.O.B. will be constructed at Chhindwara-Tamia Road and a sum of Rs. 64 crore will be spent on the construction.
