Congress leader murdered at Hata in Damoh; FIR against husband of BSP MLA, 7 others

Bhopal, March 15, 2019 (Ataullah Faizan): Bhopal. Congress leader Devendra Chaurasia and his son were attacked with sharp weapons on Friday at Hata in Damoh district. As a result, Devendera was killed. Devender has joined the Congress on March 12. Police have registered a case against seven persons, including Patharia BSP MLA Ramabai’s husband Govind Singh, in the case.
According to the information, on Friday morning Devendra Chaurasia was going with his son to Congress office. Then the unidentified miscreants attacked the father and son. Chaurasia and his son were brought to the nearest hospital. From there the doctors referred him to Jabalpur. Congress leader died during treatment here. At the same time, the condition of the son remains critical.
The family members of the Congress leader accused the wife of Pathriya legislator Rambai, Govind Singh and District Panchayat President Shiv Charan Patel’s son Indrapal. On the complaint of family, the police has registered a report against the husband of Ramabai, Govind Singh, Kaushalendra Singh, Golu Singh, Shriram Sharma, Amjad Pathan, Lokesh Singh and District Panchayat President Shiv Charan Patel’s son Inderpal Patel.
Political rival behind murder
In the initial investigation, the reason for the attack was being described as political rivalry. The family of Chaurasia have also accused the assailants of looting 4 lakh rupees. In 2014, Devendra Chaurasia contested Parliamentary election on BSP ticket. Four days ago he had joined the Congress in the presence of Chief Minister Kamal Nath. His younger brother’s wife Lata Chaurasia is a district Panchayat member.
