Sympathy is above all pathies

Dr. Narottam Mishra at state level workshop of “Kayakalp Award”

Bhopal, 7 July, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Public Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra has said that sympathy is above all pathies. He asked doctors to be sympathetic with patients and their family members in hospitals. Dr. Mishra said that like private hospitals, a public relations officer can also be appointed on contract basis in government hospitals to guide visiting patients and their family members. Dr. Mishra was addressing state level orientation workshop of “Kayakalp Award” here today. He said that the Health Department is doing good work. It needs to be improved further. Dr. Mishra said that no complaint regarding services rendered by staff has been received during last some years. He said that people’s opinion about department has changed with time mainly due to health staff’s services. Dr. Mishra informed that free of cost medicines are being distributed to 4 lakh patients daily in Madhya Pradesh. Similarly, free of cost paramedical tests of 40 thousand patients are also being conducted. Free of cost quality food is also being provided to 40 thousand patients per day. Madhya Pradesh is the pioneer state in this respect. He said that we need to set more records with hard work, dedication and labour. Dr. Mishra said that under Kayakalp Award for sanitation, more methods and subjects can be included for improvement of health services. He said that work of sanitation and security at hospitals has been given on contract. Staff only needs to monitor.

The Minister also released Swachchh Bharat Kayalkalp Nirdeshika. Principal Secretary Mrs. Gauri Singh, Health Commissioner Mr Pankaj Agrawal, National Health Mission Director Mr Faiz Ahmad Kidwai, Director Mr Navneet Kothari and health workers from districts attended the workshop.
