Bhopal, July 12, 2015 (Muslim Saleem): Sar Sangh Chalak of Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh Mr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat released novel “Paritapt Lankeshwari” at Samanvay Bhavan here today. Lok Sabha Speaker Mrs.. Sumitra Mahajan said that Paritapt Lankeshwari is unparalleled expression of Mandodri’s sentiments. Despite remaining amidst atmosphere of pomp and show, Mandodri tried to maintain piety. Reference to her piety is also found in anecdote of Hanuman when he mistakes Mandodri for Sita in Lanka. She said that despite living with a monstrous person, she tried to keep good values alive. Chief Minister Mr. Chouhan said that the novel will serve as lighthouse for society. In the novel, the author has highlighted character of Mandodri like a master artist. Mandodri’s efforts to save her husband, family and Lanka despite living in the shadow of evil, has made her a unique character.
He said that if happiness of Mandodri is higher than mountain, her sorrow is also deeper than sea. She is a symbol of Indian woman, who made concerted, braved and determined efforts to make Ravan tread path of virtue. He said that character selection of the author had raised a question in my mind as to why Mandodri? But my inquisitiveness found a solution by going through a cursory reading of the novel.
Mr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat said that Indianness should be maintained if India has to be made world leader. Society will have to be changed in the country. Evil practices and traditions like disrespect towards women and weaker sections should be eradicated. Along with Sita, we should also understand Tara and Mandodri. He said the Indian woman is full of mercy and love. Her love is not just infatuation, she also shows path of virtue.
This is what Mandodri’s character is. Though efforts of Mandori failed, but she was not unsuccessful. Therefore, the family who remember Panch Kanyas and understand their heart, will remain away from all kinds of sins.
Mr. Bhagwat said that author Mrs.. Mridula Sinha has given adequate expansion of character of Mandodri. Her flight of imagination has stemmed from her capacity to understand sentiments of Mandodri.
