Make in India gets underway in Gwalior with steel plant

 Mr. Tomar inaugurates Bilowa steel processing unit

18.8.15 tomarBhopal, August 18, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Union Minister for Steel and Mines Mr. Narendra Singh Tomar has said that beginning of “Make in India” has been made in Gwalior in the form of steel plant. Mr. Tomar was inaugurating Bilowa steel processing unit at Gwalior today. Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Maya Singh was also present. Mr. Tomar said that the Prime Minister has presented before the country “Make in India” and “Skill India” programmes for all-round development. This plant will provide employment to people of Bilowa area. It would also upgrade skills of Gwalior region’s youths. The Union Minister said that steel sector has significant role in country’s development. It has over 2 percent share in country’s GDP.  This sector is providing employment to 6 lakh people. Central government has paid special attention to skill development programme to provide jobs to youths. They are also being extended economic assistance to set up private enterprises. Mr. Tomar also referred to ambitious schemes on the Prime Minister’s initiative including Mudra Bank, Pradhan Mantri Jan-Dhan, Pradhan Mantri Bima and Atal Pension schemes. The Union Minister said that a new chapter in industrial sector of Bilowa will be added in the form of plastic park. Land for the park has been identified. He said that the Central and state governments will leave no stone unturned in industrial development of Gwalior-Chambal region, Banmor, Bilowa, Malanpur etc.
