Along with cultural, historic, and religious heritages, Madhya Pradesh has also immense potential of tourism at these sites. Through this summit, all tour operators should include Madhya Pradesh in their tour packages. People should be informed that Madhya Pradesh is unparalleled with immense tourism potential. Traffic arrangements have been improved to facilitate devotees likely to visit Simhastha. This was stated by Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan while inaugurating 31st summit of Indian Association of Tour Operators at Indore today.

The Chief Minister said that Madhya Pradesh has immense tourism potential. Tourism gives employment to people of every section of society. He said that our focus is on tourism. Madhya Pradesh has come to the stage of take-off. We are ready to show our identity to the world. Tourism will be an effective tool to make India world guru. The Chief Minister said that 2015-16 is being celebrated as Tourism Year.  Union Minister of State Mr. Mahesh Sharma said that during Madhya Pradesh visit, we feel as if we are visiting Mini India due to state’s diversity. Better works have been done in the state in tourism sector.

During last 5 years, better schemes have been implemented to attract tourists to Madhya Pradesh. He said now India has become medical tourism hub in the country and people are coming to India for gaining health even from developed countries. Madhya Pradesh has immense tourism potential. To tap this, an action plan is under consideration to start international flights from major cities of Madhya Pradesh, which will give fillip to tourism, employment opportunities, new industries and will attract investment. Minister of State for Tourism Mr. Surendra Patwa said that Madhya Pradesh is unparalleled in the world from point of view of religion and history. Separate action plan is being chalked out for different areas in Madhya Pradesh and development of these areas is ensured keeping tourism potential in view.
