Adoption process to be simplified

Union Minister inspects Anganwadi and Matru Chhaya

Bhopal, August 28, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan) :  Union Minister for Women and Child Development Mrs. Maneka Gandhi inspected an Anganwadi centre for upbringing of orphan children during her Bhopal visit today. She lauded arrangements there. Mrs. Gandhi said that the Central government will further simplify adoption process. Women and Child Development Minister Mrs. Maya Singh, Commissioner Women’s Empowerment and Commissioner Integrated Child Development Mrs. Pushplata Singh were also present. Mrs. Gandhi visited Anganwadi centre of Ankur School on Link Road No. 1. She interacted with children and asked them about numbers and colours. She lauded Sabla Yojana and Udita Project for adolescent girls.

Mrs. Gandhi gifted balls, chocolates and biscuits to children. She gave away certificates to beneficiaries of Ladli Laxmi Yojana. Mrs. Gandhi visited Matru Chhaya centre at Maida Mill and enquired about orphan children. She asked about adoption process. Mrs. Gandhi said that the Central government is making efforts to further simplify adoption process. Central government wishes that children are adopted at appropriate age for their better growth. She said that a workshop in this regard will be held soon to discuss further simplification of adoption process.
