Announces sanction of Rs. 1200 crore works

ujjain1.9Bhopal, September 1, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):   Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that humility should follow victory. Those rising to responsible posts must also have sense of responsibility. Newly elected Mayor and all corporators should make available best of civic amenities to people. There should be healthy competition of good works between all wards and the ward with best performance will be awarded. The Chief Minister was addressing oath-taking ceremony of newly elected Mayor and Corporators of Ujjain Municipal Corporation at Ujjain today. The Chief Minister said that no stone will be left unturned in development of Ujjain. The state government has sanctioned Rs. 2700 crore for Simhastha and these works are going on.

The Chief Minister announced sanction of Rs. 1200 crore for basic amenities of Ujjain city. Amount of Rs. 1200 crore announced by the Chief Minister includes Rs. 645 crore to lay sewer line for outflow of filthy effluents from the city, Rs. 231 crore for new overhead tanks and drinking water pipelines, Rs. 45 crore to set up solid waste management plant, Rs. 120 crore for parking and traffic system including multi-level parking, Rs. 150 crore for storm water drainage system to flush out rain water from Ujjain city, Rs. 72 crore for first phase of beautification of parks and Rs. 36 crore for Smart City and other works. He said that all works will be completed within next 3 years.

He also announced to modernize Dewas Gate bus stand under PPP mode, Transport Nagar on 22 hectares, beautification of all parks and Freeganj over-bridge. Newly elected Mayor Miss Meena Jonwal and all corporators were administered oath by collector Mr. Kavindra Kiyawat. Vice Chairman of State Planning Commission Mr. Babulal Jain, MPs Mr. Satyanarayan Jatia, Dr. Chintaman Malviya, MLA Dr. Mohan Yadav, Mr. Anil Firojiya, Mr. Bahadur Singh Chouhan and Ujjain Development Authority’s Chairman Mr. Jagdish Agrawal were also present on the occasion.

The Chief Minister called to the dais deaf and dumb girl Deepika Prajapati who were trying to meet him during oath-taking programme and read out her application. It was written in the application that flower shop of her mother Radha Bai in front of Har Siddhi Mandir has been removed during anti-encroachment drive. Her family has become unemployed. The Chief Minister directed the collector for necessary action.
