Call for uniform education system at national level

Mr. Joshi at meeting on proposed education policy

Bhopal, September 16, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Uniform education system should be implemented at national level, stated Minister of State for Higher and Technical Education Mr. Deepak Joshi at a meeting on proposed education policy at Lucknow. The meeting chaired by Union Human Resources Development Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani was attended by Education Ministers/representatives of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand. Mr. Joshi informed about primary education being imparted in local language in Madhya Pradesh. He also informed about Super-100 Scheme of School Education Department. He informed about “Gaon Ki Beti” and “Pratibha Kiran” schemes being implemented in the state to promote girls’ education. Mr. Joshi also informed about hostels built for girl students, residential premises opened for rag-picker children, 250-seat hostels in all divisions and 100-seat hostels for children of denotified and Nomadic tribes. Mr. Joshi said that model schools have been opened in all development blocks with state funds.

He informed that e-libraries are being opened in colleges. Mr. Joshi also suggested to promote local sports.  Mrs. Irani directed that information should be collected from all districts about new education policy, data of teachers, best practices in education sector, aptitude test and suggestions regarding inclusion of local sports and upload the same by October. Mr. Joshi also paid a courtesy visit to Uttar Pradesh Governor Mr. Ram Naik.
