Chalk out policy to improve functioning at Mantralaya

Mr. Gupta at meeting of school for good governance and policy analysis governing body

Bhopal, September 27, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Higher and Technical Education Minister Mr. Umashankar Gupta has asked School for Good Governance and Policy Analysis to chalk out a well planned policy to improve functioning at Mantralaya. Mr. Gupta was addressing a meeting of governing body of the institution here today. Tribal Welfare Minister Mr. Gyan Singh was also present on the occasion. Mr. Gupta said that third-party evaluation should also be made of cases in which court has given verdict against the government. He said that setting up legal cells in major departments should be considered. Mr. Gupta said that the institution should take effective measures after discussions with concerning departments on the report of third-party evaluation undertaken by it. Mr. Gupta said that the institution should undertake comparative study of Ease of Doing Business works being undertaken in the country, submit its report and suggest ways to implement it. He said that the institutional best practices and innovations undertaken by a collector or SP should be continued even after concerning officer is transferred.

Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa said that opportunity of research should also be given in the institution to students doing PhD in universities. Institution’s Director General Mr. Padamveer Singh informed about its activities. ACS Finance Mr. Ajay Nath, DG Academy of Administration Mrs. Kanchan Jain, Principal Secretary Higher Education Mr. K.K. Singh, Secretary Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao and other senior officers attended the meeting.
