Bhopal, September 29, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Aimed at seeking more foreign investment to accelerate the pace of development in the State, the visit of the Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan to Japan and South Korea begins with the eventful first day from September 29 at Tokyo. The Chief Minister along with a high level delegation members will hold discussions with the vice president of Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Mr. Hideaki Domichi about prospects of investment in various areas of cooperation. Mr. Chouhan will meet the CEO of Japan Bank for International Cooperation Mr. Hiroshi Watanabe and hold dialogue about mobilisation of financial resources for ambitious development projects in Madhya Pradesh. He will meet the Chairman of Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) Mr. Hiroyuki Ishige and explore the opportunities for business cooperation. He will then meet Minister of State for Ministry of Trade and Industry of Japan and discuss investment opportunities.
The 15 member delegation includes Minister of Industries Mrs. Yashodhara Raje Scindia, senior administrative officials and prominent industrialists. The Chief Minister will invite the potential investors and business groups to the three-day Global Investors Summit to be held from October 19 to 2, in 2016. In the recent past, Madhya Pradesh has successfully branded itself among global business community as investment friendly state with immense investment potential.
The Chief Minister’s Japan -Korea visit assumes importance in respect to the business reform ranking done by the World Bank and the Government of India’s Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion. Madhya Pradesh figures among top five States for executing trade promotion policies and engineering trade policy reforms.
