Bhopal, October 3, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): On the second day of Wildlife Conservation Week on October 2, bird watching camp was held at Van Vihar National Park here today. As many as 265 bird lovers from various schools, colleges and youth hostels participated in it. They identified various species of local and migratory birds including Chatak, Khanjan, Woolly-Neck Stork, Red Munia, Lesser Whistling Duck, Night Heron etc. Van Vihar Assistant Director Mr. P.K. Ghai while apprisig bird watchers of basics informed about bird species mostly found in Van Vihar. Bhopal’s eminent bird experts Dr. Surendra Tiwari and Dr. Sangeeta Rajgeer were present as resource persons. Additional Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Shahbaz Ahmed and Director Van Vihar Mr. Atul Jain were present.
As many as 22 students from various colleges spoke for and against the subject at debate competition. Subject of the debate “Display of Snakes on Nagpanchami is Proper” aimed at creating awareness and enthused students. Mr. C.K. Patil, Dr. Gayatri Singh and Mr. Deepika Minj were judges of the debate. Snake expert Mr. Mohd. Saleem displayed snakes. The audience applauded information given by Principal Chief Conservator of Forests (Wildlife) Mr. Ravi Shrivastava alleying misconceptions about snakes.
