Foundation of administrative building of university laid
Bhopal, December 4, 2011 (Ataullah Faizan): Union Agriculture and Food Processing Minister Mr. Sharad Pawar has assured every possible assistance for development of academic facilities and basic structures at country’s first Veterinary Science University. Laying the foundation stone of administrative building of the university at Imaliya area here today, Mr. Pawar hoped that Veterinary Science College will also earn fame in the country like Jawaharlal Nehru Agriculture University, Jabalpur. The function was presided over by Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. Ajay Vishnoi. Agriculture Minister Mr. Pawar underlined the need to give more attention to animal husbandry along with agriculture. He said that this region is being given special importance in preparing 12th Five-Year Plan and for this, budgetary provisions are also being increased. He said that warehouses in the country are full with food grains today due to farmers’ hard work and assistance of State and Central governments.
Recently, Government of India has decided to export wheat and India is also helping out neighbouring countries in their need of hour. But despite all these, we have to work more in animal husbandry sector for increasing our economic power. In his address, Animal Husbandry Minister Mr. Ajay Vishnoi, threw light on the requirements of Veterinary Science University. Informing Union Minister Mr. Pawar about the background of establishing this university at Jabalpur, he also gave details of the efforts being undertaken by the State Government for promoting animal husbandry. He said that this university is going to open five new diploma colleges in the state.
