Mr. Gaur reviews Bhopal’s traffic arrangements

gaur4.10.15Bhopal, October 4, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Home and Jail Minister Mr. Babulal Gaur has said that every possible improvement will be made in traffic arrangements in Bhopal city. He said that services of experienced traffic engineering expert of metro cities like Delhi and Mumbai will be sought for Bhopal. Mr. Gaur reviewed traffic arrangements in Bhopal city here today. On the information about tender process of Rs. 2 crore 16 lakh proposed works to widen road to Lily Talkies via Roshanpura, Mr. Gaur directed that its information should be given to local public representatives also. He said that suggestions by local people make construction agency’s work easy and useful. Mr. Gaur directed to construct speed breakers on merger points of colonies’ roads with main road. Mr. Gaur said that traffic accidents in Bhopal city have come down during last 2 years as a result of tightening of traffic arrangements.

This achievement has been made its way to top 10 among 120 entries for best practices in urban transport. He hoped that it would stand first. Mr. Gaur said that encroachers at Nadara bus stand to Depot Crossing and on other major roads should remove by municipal corporation during a drive after Dussehra. Mr. Gaur directed municipal corporation to fill a pit on trisection from Subhash Nagar to Rachna Nagar road within 2 days.

Mr. Gaur informed that a list of 134 bus stops on various city routes for city bus services vehicles has been made available to traffic police. Municipal corporation is undertaking works. Mr. Gaur directed to hold discussions with railway officers for construction and repair of roads connected to railways.

Mr. Gaur informed that Bhopal police is installing modern traffic signals costing Rs. one crore 45 lakh at 12 crossings. The work will be completed soon. Mr. Gaur directed departments linked to traffic arrangements to improve situation through coordination. SP Mr. Anil Maheshwari and Additional Commissioner Municipal Corporation Mr. G.P. Mali also attended the meeting.
