Bhopal, October 5, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  M-Silk mobile app launched by Cottage and Village Industry Minister Miss Kusum Mahdele will be available on Google Play Store. Sericulture Commissioner Mr. Satyanand has urged departmental officers and employees to download the app and get themselves registered following which they would be authorized by Sericulture Directorate to use it. After being authorised, any guide farmer can get registered farmers of his area. Information about cocoons produced by farmers can also be sent through the app. Gradually, the app will have facility to send all related information. In this way, Sericulture will become the first department to adopt M-Governance. The app will help get rid of trouble to send/seek information repeatedly, ensure transparency in schemes’ implementation and prompt payments to farmers. Through the app, guide farmers/employees can also send photographs and situation of mulberry plantations made by farmers and silkworm rearing houses. This information can be seen through googleearth.com on any computer.

This app conforms to JAM Scheme announced by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi at California. Under it, farmers are being provided facilities of Jan-Dhan account (J), on the basis of Aadhar Number (A) and mobile (M). There is a scheme to provide all technical information and facilities pertaining to silkworm rearing through m-Silk app in future.

These include information about cocoons sold by every farmer, minimum support price as per quality, availability of healthy atmosphere, possible date of coming out of worm, date of formation and cocoons and other information. According to Mr. Satyanand, only guide farmers and employees can get registered through the app. Information about use of the app will be given through video-conferencing on October 5.
