National agriculture markets to be set up in 50 Mandis in state

Union agriculture secretary reviews agriculture activities

Bhopal, October 6, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  Union Agriculture Secretary Mr. Siraj Hussain held extensive discussions on implementation of Centrally sponsored schemes in Madhya Pradesh here today. He held discussions mainly on “Pradhan Manti Agriculture Irrigation Scheme” launched during current fiscal. Difficulties cropping up in scheme’s implementation were also discussed. The meeting also discussed difficulties pertaining to another Central scheme of Soil Health Card. Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa assured that efforts would be made to dispose of proposals as soon as they are sent to the state. It was also decided that with the assistance of Central government, National Agriculture Markets will be set up in 50 high level Krishi Upaj Mandis in state. Each Mandi is being provided Rs. 30 lakh for this. The Union Secretary also visited Bhopal Krishi Upaj Mandi and expressed satisfaction over arrangements there.

Meena, ACS Water Resources Mr. Radheshyam Julania, Principal Secretary Agriculture Dr. Rajesh Rajora, Principal Secretary Finance Mr. Ashish Upadhyay, Director Agriculture Mr. Mohan Meena, Commissioner Panchayats Mr. Raghuveer Shrivastava and Director Horticulture Mr. Dhakad also attended the meeting.
