Ensure treatment and prevention of swine flue and dengue on war-footing

lead9.10.15Bhopal, October 9, 2015 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has directed to ensure war-footing efforts to treat and control swine flu and dengue. Mr. Chouhan reviewed efforts in this regard here today. Chief Secretary Mr. Anthony de Sa, Principal Secretary Medical Education Mr. Vinod Semwal and Principal Secretary Public Health & Family Welfare Mrs. Gauri Singh attended the meeting. The Chief Minister said that efforts to treat and control swine flu and dengue should be reviewed daily. Live contact should be maintained with private hospitals.

He directed for regular monitoring of treatment and availability of medicines. He laid emphasis on continuity of efforts to increase public awareness about prevention of diseases. He sought information about availability of equipments, labs and test materials and directed to keep updated on new research and studies regarding treatment.  The meeting was informed that Fever OPDs have been opened in government hospitals where patients suffering from fever are being examined. Examination of suspicious swine flu patients is done immediately. Kits and medicines for swine flu are available in adequate quantity. Additional 1.50 lakh temiflu tablets MGN 95, 7500 masks, 2000 VTM kits and 2000 PPE kits and 30 ventilators are being purchased for government hospitals.

Larvae destruction work is being done effectively in dengue-affected areas of Shivpuri. Incidence of larvae presence has reduced to 10 percent from 40 percent. The state government is earnestly complying with Central Government’s treatment protocol. A joint medical team has been constituted for effective treatment of swine flu patients, who is monitoring treatment of patients admitted in government and private hospitals. Secretary to CM Mr. Hari Ranjan Rao, Secretary Health Mrs. Suraj Damor, Commissioner Health Mr. Pankaj Agrawal, Mission Director Mr. Navneet Kothari and other officers also attended the meeting.
