Discrimination between sons and daughters must end: CM Mr. Chouhan


lead7.6.12Bhopal, June 7, 2012 (Muslim Saleem):  Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said that discrimination between sons and daughters must end in the larger interests of society and country. Mr. Chouhan was addressing a mass marriage function under Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna at Rehti on late Tuesday night. In all, 389 couples tied nuptial knot at the function. The Chief Minister blessed and extended best wishes to newly wedded couples. Leader of Opposition in Lok Sabha Mrs. Sushma Swaraj was also present on the occasion. The Chief Minister said that the State Government is constantly working in the interest of girls, women and weaker sections of society. He made a special mention offor Ladli Laxmi, Kanyadan and Mukhyamantri Teerth-Yatra schemes in this context.

He said that the State Government fulfilled its promise to procure wheat on support price from farmers despite several hurdles. Mrs. Sushma Swaraj wished a happy married life to the newly wedded couples. She described Mukhyamantri Kanyadan Yojna as meaningful and novel and congratulated Mr. Chouhan for it. She termed active participation of society in the programme as encouraging. Mrs. Sadhna Singh, Madhya Pradesh Housing Board Chairman Mr. Rampal Singh, Forest Development Corporation Chairman Mr. Guru Prasad Sharma, MARKFED Chairman Mr. Ramakant Bhargava, MP Agro Chairman Mr. Ramkrishna Chouhan and large number of people’s representatives and citizens were present on the occasion.
