Energy Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla congratulates
Bhopal, October 15, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan): Maximum power demand was met during the current fiscal on October 12 and 13. On Tuesday – October 13 – 20 crore 94 lakh units were supplied and 20 crore 52 lakh units were supplied on October 12. Maximum peak hour demand of 9,634 MW was registered on October 13 and 9,060 MW on October 12. Energy Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla has congratulated all concerning employees in the state for this achievement. MD of MP Power Management Company Mr. Sanjay Kumar Shukla informed that demand for power has increased due to ongoing festivals and Rabi irrigation due to deficient rainfall. It has gone up by about 37 percent in the second week of October compared to corresponding period last year. In the context of rising demand, 42 percent more power was supplied. On October 13, 2014, peak hour demand was 7,047 MW, which rose to 9,634 MW on October 13 this year.
Power supply was 14 crore 71 lakh units on October 13, 2014, which rose to 20 crore 94 lakh units on October 13, 2014. Thermal power stations’ share of 3,291 MW was maximum in successfully meeting maximum power demand on October 13. Power Generating Company’s thermal power stations supplied 7 crore 6 lakh units despite the fact that 210 MW unit number 9 and 250 MW unit number 11 of Satpura thermal power station Sarni did not generate power on that day. Share of hydel power stations was 65.42 lakh units.
