Energy Minister flags off Teerth-Darshan train from Rewa

Bhopal, September 21, 2012 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):   A special train under Mukhyamantri Teerth-Darshan Yojna left for Vaishno Devi carrying pilgrims from Rewa division from Rewa railway station at 9.15 am today. Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla flagged off the train. Meanwhile, massive enthusiasm was witnessed among pilgrims. The Energy Minister, MLAs, the Mayor, Zila Panchayat Chairperson and other people’s representatives felicitated the pilgrims by garlanding and applying tilak to them. As many as 869 pilgrims from Rewa, Sidh i, Singrauli, Satna and Panna districts left for Vaishno Devi pilgrimage by this train. At the farewell function, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla said that this novel scheme launched by Chief Minister Mr. Shivraj Singh Chouhan has become a topic of discussions in entire country.

This day is very auspicious for Rewa district and division when senior citizens from here are getting opportunity to visit Vaishno Devi. He said that the Teerth-Darshan Yojna is the result of respect to sentiments. Efforts will be made to ensure that those who have been left out this time are given opportunity the next time. MLA Mr. Laxman Tiwari, Mrs. Panna Bai, Mayor Mr. Shivendra Singh, Zila Panchayat Chairperson Mrs. Maya Singh also extended best wishes to the pilgrims.

Scenario of respect to all religions and harmony was witnessed at Rewa railway station when a delegation of Muslims led by Mr. Rafiq Khan bade farewell to the pilgrims by garlanding them. People belonging to this section of society said that they have come to bid farewell to our Hindu brethren keeping alive traditions of rich culture.
