Journalism meaningful when it gives proper guidance to society

Governor at 20th foundation day function of Rashtriya Hindi mail

guv28.10.15Bhopal, October 28, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Governor Mr. Ram Naresh Yadav has said that journalism is meaningful when it gives proper guidance to society. It should not be dominated by any particular ideology. These days, society specially youths are very much impressed by electronic media. The Governor was addressing 20th Foundation Day function of daily Rashtriya Hindi Mail here today. He also felicitated about 28 senior as well as young journalists for inspiring contribution to journalism with shawls, coconuts and mementos. PHE Minister Miss Kusum Mahdele, Rajya Sabha MP Mr. Choudhary Munawwar Saleem, former MP Mr. Suresh Pachauri, former MP Mr. Kailash Sarang, senior journalists Mr. Mahesh Shrivastava and Mr. Vijaydutt Shridhar were present on the occasion.

Cautioning young journalists, the Governor said that country is looking forward to them. Young journalists should follow ideals of brave and impartial journalism of heroes of Indian independence including Mahatma Gandhi, Makhanlal Chaturvedi and Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi. Minister Miss Kusum Mahdele said that journalism is both positive and negative. There is dominance of negative journalism in this era of competition. But, Rasthriya Hindi Mail has maintained its reputation and popularity by giving preference to positive journalism.

MP Mr. Choudhary Munawwar Saleem said that journalist is mirror to society. Journalism should be taken as a movement with courage to bring out facts. Former MP Mr. Suresh Pachauri said that success is achieved through working with firm determination. Journalists should raise common people’s problems to live up to expectations of readers. The Governor inaugurated the function by lighting a lamp. Large number of journalists and distinguished citizens were present on the occasion.
