Knowledge hub for teachers and students in MP by end of current year

Mr. Paras Jain participates in ICT’s meeting in New Delhi

Bhopal, November 8, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):   Education Minister Mr. Paras Jain has said that knowledge hub for teachers and students in Madhya Pradesh would be started by the end of current year. Mr. Jain addressed national conference of ICT in New Delhi today. Union Human Resources Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani presided over the function. Mr. Jain informed that NCERT’s books have been uploaded through e-pathshala in the state, which can also be downloaded. ‘Knowledge hub’ for teachers and students is proposed to be started by December. Under ICT scheme, mobile app (M.Shikshamitra), e-pathshala etc. are being implemented. Along with ensuring attendance of teachers in schools, mobile app also provides them pay slips and information about holidays and applications, complaint redressal, directives, inspection reports, scholarships etc. It is ascertained through e-audit server in the app whether a teacher is present in school or not since GIS mapping of schools has been done. Mr. Jain informed that in information and publicity technology, Central share is 75 percent and state’s 25 percent. He informed that about Rs. 128 crore will be spent on the scheme.

Under the scheme, sanction was granted in year 2011 to set up computer labs in 200 higher secondary schools. As many as lab have 10 computer with solar panels costing about Rs. 5 lakh 10 thousand each are to be set up in these schools. After installation, concerning company will maintain computers for 5 years. At present, various companies have displayed their models at 5 schools of Bhopal. Following it, work to set up computer labs will be allocated through global tenders.

Mr. Jain informed that a scheme has been introduced in 5 districts to evaluate performances of teachers and students through principals in all government primary and middle schools under Shala Darpan. Mr. Jain informed that mid-day meal programme is being conducted in all aided primary and middle schools and madarsas in the state through Zila Panchayats.
