Vindhya’s pride white tiger to return to its natural habitat

Mr. Shukla sends of white tigress Jungle Ki Rani

shukl9.11.15Bhopal, November 9, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):  This Dhanteras will bring a gift for people of Vindhya region. After long wait, return of area’s pride white tiger has been assured. Public Relations, Energy, New & Renewable Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla sent off white tigress Jungle Ki Rani from Van Vihar here today to world’s first white tiger safari, zoological park and rescue centre at Mukundpur in Satna district. His wife, other family members, PCCF Mr. Narendra Kumar, PCCF Wildlife Mr. Ravi Shrivastava, APCCF Mr. R.P. Singh, Director Van Vihar Mr. Atul Shrivastava and Assistant Director Mr. Pradeep Ghai were also present on the occasion.

Along with white tigress, Jamwant and a pair of bear were also sent with tight safety arrangements. People of Vindhya region will also received the wild animals reaching Mukundpur on Dhanteras on November 9.  The Minister said that race of white tiger went to entire world from Vindhya region, but this region has no white tiger. Now, white tiger will return to the region with grandeur. He said that it would promote tourism in Vindhya region and also help in economic development. The wild animals are being translocated to Mukundpur from Bhopal-Vidisha-Raisen-Sagar-Damoh-Katni road route.

Forest Department staff has made foolproof arrangements for health and food of the wild animals during translocation. A team of doctors is also accompanying. Mukundpur will be first zoo in the world where visitors can enjoy sighting of white tiger and other animals in white tiger safari. Apart from unique tourism experience, local people will also have new job opportunities. The zoo will be dedicated in January 2016. It is noteworthy that world’s first white tiger was spotted in Vindhya region. The then Maharaja Rewa had captured a white tiger cub in 1951 and named it ‘Mohan’. All white tigers are progeny of Mohan.
