Youth power should partner in country’s development

shukl21.11.15Bhopal, November 21, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan):  Energy, Mineral Resources and Public Relations Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla has said that youths should not be self-centred, but decide about their role in nation building. He said that youth power should partner in development of the country. Mr. Shukla was addressing 4th convocation of Avdhesh Pratap Singh University, Rewa today. Vice chancellor of National Law University, Patna Dr. A Laxmi Nath was chief guest on the occasion.  At the convocation, 3 scholars were conferred D. Litt., 37 students were conferred DSc, PhDs and M. Phil, Vice Chancellor’s Gold Medals to 41 students and degrees were given away to post-graduate students. Mr. Shukla said that higher education acquired by students is meaningful only when it is used for upliftment of society and country.

Referring to gold medalist students, he said that this shows that there is no lack of talent in the country, but it should be properly utilized. The Minister said that we should realise value of time. Mr. Shukla said that youths should inculcate habit of doing things quickly. It will accelerate pace of development works. He expressed happiness that students of state’s universities are playing important role in development of state and country.

Dr. A. Laxmi Nath said that universities have been centres of culture and civilization since ages. Taxila and Nalanda are its examples. Foreign invaders destroyed these centres of learning so that they can thrust their culture and civilization on the country. He said that Chanakya was profounder of social engineering. He chose disciples on the basis of merit and not caste and raised Chandragupt as an able ruler. Vice chancellor Prof. K.N. Singh Yadav threw light on history and achievement of the university. Mayor Mrs. Mamta Gupta, MLA Mrs. Sheela Tyagi, other public representatives, vice chancellor of Jabalpur University, students and citizens were present on the occasion.
