New record of meeting power demand in MP

Bhopal, November 30, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):   Peak hour demand has been registered over 10 thousand MW for last 3 days in Madhya Pradesh. A new record to meeting peak hour demand of 10 thousand 112 MW power was achieved in the state on November 28. Earlier, peak hour demand of 10 thousand 89 MW was registered on November 27 and 10 thousand 3 MW on November 26. The demand was met successfully on all 3 days. Energy Chief Minister Mr. Rajendra Shukla has congratulated engineers and workers of power company for this achievement. As many as 21 crore 27 lakh 79 thousand units of power were supplied on November 28, 21 crore 55 lakh 79 thousand units on November 27 and 21 crore 50 lakh 39 thousand units were supplied on November 26. Compared to last year, peak hour demand on November 26, 27 and 28 has increased by 500 to 614 MW. This year 147.35 lakh, 150.37 lakh units and 117.97 lakh more units were supplied, respectively. Power demand has crossed 10 thousand MW during last 3 years due to ongoing irrigation operations in the state. Presently, domestic electricity consumers are being supplied quality and credible power 24X7 and farmers minimum 10 hours per day for irrigation.
