Minister Dr. Mishra inaugurates
Bhopal, December 3, 2015 (Abdul Ahad Farhan): Health Minister Dr. Narottam Mishra inaugurated exhibition ‘Routine Life of Disabled Persons’ here today. The exhibition showcases 100 photographs of daily life of disabled persons snapped by photographer Mr. Sharad Shrivastava. The photographs witness as to how disabled persons make life easier by overcoming difficulties with high morale. Dr. Mishra lauded the exhibition. Photographs also depict those emotions of disabled persons about which people are not aware generally. The Minister said that a number of facilities including reservation in government service are being extended to disabled persons. Provisions for organ transplant and financial assistance for other disability-related treatment have also been made. Social Justice Department and NGOs are active to extend benefits of these schemes to disabled persons.
He stressed the need for cooperative approach instead of expressing sympathy towards disabled persons. Veteran journalist Mr. Manoj Mathur and in-charge Joint Director Social Justice, Bhopal Mr. Devesh Mishra were also present on the occasion. Dr. Mishra also felicitated litterateurs Mr. Rajaram Pal and Mr. Prakash Wadhwani for excellence works. The Minister interacted with students and disabled persons and spent sometime with them. The programme was conducted by Dr. Ramesh Shrivastava. Mrs. Deepti Patwa gave an account of the programme to disabled persons in sign language.
