6 bus stands to be modernized in first phase

Bhopal, December 3, 2015 (Ataullah Faizan):   Bus stands in the state will be modernized and made convenient to facilitate common people. Its process has been started. This was informed by Transport Minister Mr. Bhupendra Singh during a meeting of Madhya Pradesh Inter-city Transport Authority here on Tuesday. In the first phase of the scheme, 6 bus stands of the state will be modernized including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior, Sagar and Rewa. Mr. Singh directed for early start of construction of Dr. Hari Singh Gaur Bus Stand at Sagar under PPP mode. Sagar bus stand would be modernized at a cost of Rs. 2 crore 69 lakh 32 thousand. The meeting was informed that process is on to appoint a Transaction Advisor to accelerate pace of activities of Inter-city Transport Authority. Survey is underway to get feedback from people for modernizing bus stands.

On the basis of the feedback, the Authority will undertake modernization works. Lands of various departments will be identified and used for bus stands in various cities. Besides, a website of the Authority would also be prepared on which it would get feedback and reports about activities from people. Principal Secretary Transport Mr. S.N. Mishra, Transport Commissioner Mr. Shailendra Shrivastava were present at the meeting.
